Family photography prices vary a lot, and the session fee is only part of the picture. Here is what goes into the price, how to choose between a mini and a full session, and what our sessions cost.
What goes into the price
Session length. Thirty minutes is enough for a small family and one look. An hour gives you time for outfit changes and different groupings. Ninety minutes suits extended families.
Number of edited photos. Ask how many fully edited images are included, not just how many are taken.
Group size. Grandparents, cousins, and every combination on your list take time. Bigger groups usually need a longer session.
Delivery. A private online gallery with downloads is standard for many photographers. Prints, albums, and rush delivery may cost extra.
Location. A nearby park is simple. Multiple spots or a long drive add time.
Mini session or full session?
A mini session is a short, focused shoot: one location, one outfit plan, and a smaller set of images. It is great for holiday cards and yearly updates.
A full session gives you more time, more variety, and a slower pace, which helps with toddlers, big families, and multiple outfits.
What Studio37 family sessions cost
- Petite Package: $350. A quick family session with edited highlights delivered fast.
- Milestone Package: $500. Yearly updates, birthdays, and milestones.
- Legacy Package: $750. Extended family, multiple combinations, and premium retouching.
Our portrait sessions run 30, 60, or 90 minutes at those same price points, with 15+, 30+, or 50+ edited photos. Two photographers come to every session: one guides posing while the other catches the candid moments in between.
Seasonal mini sessions start at $350 for 30 minutes, and our holiday mini sessions are timed so photos arrive before holiday cards go out.

How to get the most from your session
- Plan outfits around two or three colors instead of matching exactly.
- Book near golden hour for soft, flattering light.
- Schedule around naps and meals for little ones.
- Make a short shot list of must-have groupings so nothing gets missed.
When to book
Fall is the busiest season for family photos around Pinehurst, The Woodlands, and Magnolia, because everyone wants images for holiday cards. If you need photos for cards, aim to shoot by late November. Galleries usually arrive within about three weeks.
