For portraits in Cypress we usually start with Kleb Woods Nature Preserve, Kickerillo-Mischer Preserve, and Cypress Top Historic Park. We choose based on the look you want, the light at your session time, parking, and how much walking you want to do.
Bluebonnets show up along the Highway 290 and Grand Parkway corridors in April. Preserve trails stay shaded and workable on summer mornings. Mosquitoes are heavy in the wooded preserves from May to October. Fall color shows up in the hardwoods in November and December.
