Kingwood calls itself the Livable Forest, and it earns it: lakefront nature preserves, boardwalks over the San Jacinto River, and more than 75 miles of greenbelt trails under the trees. Mercer Botanic Gardens, where we have photographed proposals and family sessions, is about 15 minutes south.

Beyond the Houston area, we travel to Galveston for any package, the Austin area for sessions of $750 or more, and Dallas for projects of $2,000 or more.
Studio37 starting prices are the same in Kingwood as everywhere we work: portraits from $350, engagements from $450, events from $600, weddings from $1,200, and commercial sessions from $500. Two photographers come to every session.
Our go-to Kingwood spots are Mercer Botanic Gardens, East End Park, River Grove Park, and Creekwood Nature Area. We pick between them based on the session type, the light at your session time, parking, and how much walking you want.
Kingwood Service Association parks do not publish professional photo fees, so we confirm before booking. Mercer allows professional photography free of charge: sign in at the Visitor Center, finish 30 minutes before closing, and no drones. Lake Houston Wilderness Park charges $3 per day for visitors ages 13 to 65, and the City of Houston publishes a $154.42 professional photo fee per park per date.

Mercer is strongest in spring, so we go early. Bluebonnets show up along the greenbelt edges in April. East End Park’s riverfront trails can flood after heavy rain. Summer brings mosquitoes along the water and at Creekwood.
